This popular pattern is known as an “attractor” fly aka it's great for prospecting when you’re not sure what to tie on. Its profile and movement on the water resembles many different air-born insects and terrestrials, which trout love. It’s intended to ride high on the water's surface and is generally pretty easy to see.
