How It Works
The stories of guides that have benefited from our campaign will be published and shared for you to see how your contributions directly impacted the lives of fishing guides across the US. Each dollar raised through gofundme, the manner in which they are disbursed, and any additional fundraising commitments from brands will be accounted for. Additionally any profits generated from #savetheseason gear will be added to the fund.
Our goal is to help guides and have 100% transparency for how the funds are allocated. We will handle distributions on a case-by-case basis with the goal of helping as many guides as possible but also allocating funds where they are needed most. Thanks for your support!
Impact of COVID-19
The outbreak of the coronavirus is creating a crisis in the guiding industry. With the fishing season upon us, there has already been signifcant fallout to date - and many guides believe this is just the beginning.
“We’re hurting pretty bad because our business is mainly spring break travel. I have lost probably 20 charters already and more to come - will probably end up losing most of May.”
“I’m getting crushed by cancelled charters like it’s going out of style. Lost 9 just today! Most of April will be lost too - hoping it doesn’t wander into May.”

All In A Season
For much of the guiding community, this is the time of year guides rely on most to be able to provide for themselves and their families. Every guides’ fishing season may be a little different, but for a large portion of guides it is an extremely seasonal and volatile window. These captains, guides, and instructors spend their entire year focusing on making every last second of this window count. That often means costly investments such as boat maintenance, trailer repairs, new oars, upgraded equipment, brand new tackle or flies, marketing costs -- the list goes on.

Join Together
Add the additional stress of cancellations due to travel restrictions, less recreational spending, and general safety concerns due to COVID-19 - and the volatility increases exponentially for the worse. Based on discussions with guides across the US, many people in the guiding community will only realize a small fraction of the income they had planned for.
We ask our community to join together to #savetheseason for guides affected by these cancellations. We ask our fishing family to please donate and spread the word. There are no better stewards of our fisheries than the guides that depend on it. This is just a small way we can do our part to thank them.
