Have You Heard of the Farmington River?

It's actually a phenomenal trout fishery! This is kind of a joke I have with my wife. Her folks live in CT, and for the past 6 years I never so much as a thought to bring the fishing gear with me when we visit. At some point in 2013, I happened to have the rod in the car and headed over to the google to do some searching for places to fish. Low and behold - THE FARMINGTON RIVER - CT's crown jewel of trout fishing is practically in their backyard! And so upon discovering this life-changing piece of information, I asked my wife (who grew up in CT) "Have you heard of the Farmington River?" She laughed and looked at me as if had asked if she knew where babies came from. Needless to say, I now keep a rod at their house so I can sneak away and take a few casts every time I'm down there. I had the chance to check out a few spots, including the Apricot's parking lot- which is very accessible and offers a very wadeable stretch of the river. Looking forward to spending some more hours on the Farmington come spring... which I'm pretty sure will be here at some point! https://postflybox.com/blog/2018/07/04/4-patriotic-movies-you-didnt-know-involved-fly-fishing/ https://postflybox.com/blog/2016/12/22/how-to-fish-a-new-hole-like-a-guide/ https://postflybox.com/blog/2017/04/18/why-you-should-fish-for-seasonal-species-before-even-they-arrive/
