To all of our Tribe Dads, one day is not enough to recognize how special you are. We hope you are showered with love this Father’s Day and find yourself with a rod in hand. You deserve it.
I now realize just how fortunate I am to have a dad that took the time to take his little girl fishing with him. He always embraced my company while at the expense of his own fishing. Each memory that I have of us on the water is filled with such happiness and love. I am eternally grateful that he shared his passion for fly fishing and the ocean with me. We continue to find time together on the water and share in these special moments, though our roles have now reversed. I find myself giving him the bow any chance I can or working to put him on fish just to see that ear to ear dad grin. Thank you, Dad.
Not sure what to get best Dad for Father’s Day? I’ve got you covered. These 5 gifts ideas are guaranteed to put a smile on Dad’s face.
Need we say more? We think this gift is pretty self explanatory. Premium handcrafted flies and fly fishing accessories delivered straight to Dad’s door. It’s the gift that keeps on giving (for 3 months at least). Options for trout, warmwater and saltwater.
We think this waxed canvas wallet is a thing of beauty and something Dad will enjoy. It’s a classy alternative to many of the plastic cases that are out there today. Dad will feel extra special with the sheep shearling detail. No biggy if good ole Dad drops it in the water. This wallet floats and dries nicely in the sunshine.
Glass is not dead! Dad will be thanking you for many years to come with this generous and thoughtful gift. The Dragon Glass 3wt Wade rod is timeless, super slow and buttery in action. It is ideal for delicately and effortlessly presenting flies to weary fish. Small mountain streams in the Rocky Mountain West? Local golf course pond? This is the perfect rod for Dad.
There is no greater thrill in fly fishing than stalking extremely large, hungry, easily-spooked fish along coastal inshore waters. Whether you chase stripers in New England, big reds in the marshes of the south, or bonefish on the turquiose flats of the Caribbean, the Tide Chaser is Dad’s new weapon of choice. We designed the Tide Chaser to be light enough to make that 1000th cast, yet strong enough to punch big flies through the wind.
The Pelican Reel’s Bird Brain Pliers are compact, tough, and a key addition for any fishing excursion. The Finn Holster is beautifully handmade in Vermont featuring genuine leather and a classy shearling patch for Dad to hook his wet flies on.
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there sharing their passion and commitment of fly fishing with us. Those early days on the water shape our future.
